About Our Church
What We Believe
In the one and only, true God,
revealed in the incarnation of the Lord Jesus
existing through all time and eternity
as Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
The Godhead Three-in-One
distinct in personhood,
yet one in essence;
Creator, Ruler, Sustainer, Savior and Judge of all creation.
(Exodus 20:3; John 1:1-4,14; Matthew 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:13).
In the Holy Scriptures
produced by persons who were carried along by the Holy Spirit
and are God’s very own and unique revelation to the world.
All Scripture is trustworthy,
without error in its original manuscripts
preserved by faithful believers
recognized by the true church
and the ultimate standard by which all doctrine and conduct of the Christian faith must be judged and taught.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; 2 Thessalonians 2:15).
In Jesus the Christ.
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary, who became the mother of God.
Jesus, fully God, took on the human nature in every way,
lived a fully human life, yet without sin.
In His full humanity and full divinity
Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world,
thus demonstrating the love of God for sinners;
making satisfaction for the wrath of God,
He died as a substitute for all who believe.
In is death he also defeated the power of sin and the devil
which enslaved all.
In this way, he made provision for the forgiveness of sin, that is, reconciliation with God for all who would receive the righteousness of God by faith
and a new covenant, which is in His blood.
Having laid down His life for the sins of world,
effected in those he who believe
He picked it up again in glorious, bodily resurrection from the dead.
In his resurrection,
he became the embodiment and first fruit of the hope of the new creation,
which is the everlasting life of the age to come and the kingdom of God.
He then ascended to the throne of God
until He returns to judge the living and the dead
and after that make all things new.
In this way Jesus Christ is the culmination and fulfillment of the promises of God and all of God’s work in the world.
(Matthew 1:18-23;11:27; 14:33; 16:16; 16:27; 28:18; Mark 16:19; Luke 1:35; Luke 24:46-47; John 1:29; John 10:30; John 11:25-26; John 16:28; John 17:1-5; John 20:28; Acts 1:9-11; Acts 2:22-24; Acts 13:26-39; Acts 17:30-31; Romans 1:3-4; Romans 3:21-26; Romans 5:6-11; Romans 6:6-10; Romans 8:1-4; Romans 8:18-25; Romans 10:4; Romans 10:8-13; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28; 2 Corinthians 5:16-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Ephesians 1:20-23; Ephesians 2:1-5; Ephesians 3:8-11; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:13-22; Colossians 2:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 3:16; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 1:1-4; Hebrews 4:14-15; Hebrews 7:25-28; Hebrews 9:11-14; Hebrews 9:15; Hebrews 9:24-28; 1 Peter 2:22-25; 1 John 4:10; Revelation 5:8-14; Revelation 12:10-11; Revelation 19:11-16).
God created humanity male and female in his own image.
Sin entered the world through the human race and as a result, humanity suffered the curse of futility and alienation from God.
All persons are now born in the image of the first Adam
and have a sinful nature,
which, as soon as they are capable of moral responsibility,
leads inexorably to becoming a transgressor of God’s law,
and incurring his just condemnation.
Despite the depravity of the inherited sin nature which affects every aspect of the human nature,
and the fact that all will stand condemned under the law of God
and are in need of salvation;
due to the creation of every human being in the image of God,
whether born or unborn,
and that Jesus died for these,
we hold that all human life is sacred,
and every person possesses full dignity
as image bearers of the divine nature.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:17-24; Genesis 9:5-6; Job 31:15; Psalm 8:3-5; Psalm 51:5; Psalm 139:13; Romans 3:9-18; Romans 5:12; Romans 5:18-19).
There is no salvation offered to humanity by God apart from the gospel,
which is the opportunity of repentance from sin and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Repentance is the genuine turning from sin brought about by the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit in the inner person
and results in a life lived in keeping with repentance.
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the act of rendering commitment and allegiance to Jesus as Lord and Savior.
The salvation of human beings corresponds first to the choice of God, called election,
whereby in God’s mysterious, eternal providence,
He predestines and works salvation through his gracious purposes by his power alone.
This gracious work is consistent with the free agency of human choice, who are created by God to choose freely according to their own desires.
Faith, therefore, is the gift of God, and in no way rests on the efforts or will of human beings,
thus salvation excludes boasting,
and in all ways,
is directed towards the glory of God.
Those whom God elects, he regenerates, justifies, sanctifies
and will inevitably glorify.
Thus, all true believers will persevere in faith to the end,
not in perfection of life,
but in allegiance of faith, until the day our faith becomes sight.
